Lacura Beauty Concealer Pen Review

I love testing out new concealers all the time, Having used my Collection 2000 lasting perfection for ages, I decided to be more open minded and tried a even cheaper brand. I remember people comparing the Aldi Concealer pen to the Touché Éclat, I was easily please, especially knowing what a bargain this product was. 

Since I was near a Aldi this week, I decided to pop in and see what they had to offer. I seen that this concealer was around £3.59, absolute bargain for what I heard. Since they only had 3 shades I decided to get the lightest as I was mostly using this for highlight.

Another little bonus about this product is that it has not been tested on animals!

Firstly the packaging, it is basically the same as the YSL Touché Éclat but probably more cheap looking. At first it took a few attempts to actually get the product out as it's a clicky pen but once you get the hang of using the product, It only takes at least one click for you to get the amount of product you need to conceal.

I found the texture to be quite light when applied, you only need the slightest bit too so it saves! 

My only disappointment about this is that it dries too quickly before you get the chance to blend it in. A few times I have applied this as a highlight and it has dried before I had the chance to blend the product in, which is so annoying since the actual conceal itself lovely.

This concealer is not the best for coverage but its lovely if you are in need for a quick fix! I usually use this for a contour so under the eyes, chin, nose and forehead and it works great. This also lasts all day for me which comes in handy if your travelling or out and about all day.

I wouldn't say this is my ultimate favourite concealer but its something I will always have in my makeup collection. I would say this is on par with the Touché Éclat, if not better as your only paying a cheeky £3.59 woohoo!

Banning those blemishes!

Although I have never suffered from spots, I have always suffered from blemishes! The bane of my life.

For years I have struggled to get rid of the redness and blemishes in my skin and I have tried many products in the past which have always failed.

For the past year I have hardly had any blemishes and I have a totally different skin care regime, I found this has worked sooo much and I'm a lot more happier inside now I have blemish free skin, yippee!

Please excuse the dirt, They are makeup wipes at the end of the day ;)

So after removing some of my makeup with these I then move onto cleansing pads! I use the Clearasil Daily clear, deep cleansing pads. These are my ultimate Favorite things to use everrrr. This removes all dirt and makeup and leaves you with fresh skin. Although at first your face can look super red and may sting, this will calm down within 10 minutes and by the next day my skin is always silky smooth :) I always use these before bed rather than in the morning as they might be a little harsh.

Another product I always use for blemishes has to be my moisturiser. This one I found to work amazing, This tightens and wakens up the skin. Not only do I love this for my blemishes I use it as my everyday moisturiser, I cannot rave any more about product, It simply fab!

Last but not least I find using honey is a great skin remedy, you can make great homemade face masks including honey and other things in your fridge that are just as good as high end treatments.

So I always always use cleansing wipes before any cleanse, I use Home Bargains 2 for £1 cucumber wipes. They work amazing and the fragrance leaves your skin with the most amazing smell (my boyfriend always compliments my skin when using these). I use them religiously  to take my makeup off, remove eye makeup (which can be a killer) and I even use it to clean my shoes ha ha!

Top 2013 beauty products so far!

This year I have been into beauty products more than ever, Not only am I not buying makeup for the sake of it, I'm actually giving products a try and using them alot more. Giving that it is only march, there is a big favorites selection.

 So here are my favorites of this year, Might not look alot but I have used these none stop. Sorry if some look dirty! Makeup can be very messy ha ha. I use these everyday, or carry these in a cosmetic bag.

Face products

 
These foundations are amazing, I mix both of them to get the perfect shade. I had always wanted to try Estee Lauder double wear but never had the guts to buy it for some reason! I had heard nothing but amazing reviews so I popped into my closest Debenhams and made a cheeky purchase. When I bought this foundation I had a good few layers of false tan on so I wanted the foundation to match my skin for when I'm bronzed. The colour I was matched too is 3N1 Ivory Beige 10. Now on my actual skin tone, this colour looks silly but Mixed with a little Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, It gives me the perfect shade. Now I was shopping around and found this foundation in b&m! Priced at £4.99 what a bargain! It gives you the perfect finish with an amazing glow.

I have been using these concealers for around a year now, and I wouldn't know what to do without them! The collection Lasting perfection gives you the amazing coverage you need, I use it for everything as it basically gives me a new face! I don't use the MAC Pro Longwear concealer for my face, This colour was matched way to light for my skin tone, so now I use it to shape my brows as its amazing coverage and super light.

Lips

 I LOVE my red lipsticks, I think I have too many. These are my ultimate favorites and I'm sad I'm reaching the bottom! The MAC lipstick is Russian Red and the Kate Moss Rimmel lipstick is shade 107. I love the contrast and I religiously carry these both with me at all times! These are the only red shades I have found have suited my skin tone and will defiantly be using these until I can!

Brushes

Here I have my most trustworthy brushes, Real  techniques Buffing Brush and Blush Brush and Fraulein flat top brush. I use these every day, I love the quality so much, I don't know how I would cope without having these in my kit. I use the buffing brush for foundation, the blush brush for bronzer and my flat brush to shape under my brows.

Eyes

Here are my most used eye products, You may have noticed there is no mascara and that is because I can never find one I really like, The amount I try is pointless :(

For years I used Avon for my eyeliners and they used to give me the most vibrant colour and were very long lasting, when they got discontinued I worked my way around boots and swatched as many to find a dupe to my old liner. I came across this soap and glory KOHL liner and it has to be the best cream eyeliner I have ever used. Mine is in the colour black and I can always rely on this to last me all day & night.

I use MAC eyebrow pencil in stud, I love a dark defined brow and this is perfect for creating that sharp groomed look. I bought collection 2000 Gel liner at Christmas and have used it nearly everyday, I found this to be the cheapest and best quality for money. Last but not least my HD Brow Kit in 'Bombshell' When I received this in my glossy box last year I was not fussed at all, the colours are not to my taste and did not work with my brows, giving it more time, I began using them as eyeshadows as they are quite neutral, now I use it everyday to give me abit of definition to my eyes.

Random Products

These are a few random beauty production which have been my ultimate fav. I use Nivea daily essentials oil free moisturising day cream, It is amazing. I use this every day & night and find my skin is always super soft and it smells amazing (bonus!) My HD Brows tweezers are a god send! They pluck the finer hairs out your brows and are the best tweezers I have ever used. Last is my favorite nail polish ever, Sally Hansen's 'The Sky's the limit' This is the most amazing blue, very pigmented and super cheap. If I ever fancy some colour to brighten me up I always stick this shade on.

Getting that perfect Natural Glow!

Helloo There! 

If you are like me and always looking for ways to increase a natural glow to your face then I'm going to show you a easy and cheaper way to create that look. Winter is now over and the heavy makeup comes off, I love winter and wearing more coverage to my skin but I also love having that natural finish on those days I don't feel like spending hours on my makeup!

Firstly I always Prep My skin by using a pH-balanced product such as: Dermalogica, Simple, Sanex & Clarins, these will work with your body's natural chemistry, It's quite important you don't use products that leave your skin with a firm texture. I then mix this with bicarb, a cheap easy product which you find in most kitchens (and its an absolute bargin)  This will give your skin an amazing glow.

Secondly I use a sunscreen with SPF 15, It is very important to use a sun protector,it prevents the pigmentation and discoloration to your skin and maintains its facial glow, also remember to do this in advance before you take a trip out, many creams, and lotions can darken the skin on your face. I mix mine with a tinted moisturizer if it already does not contain some but usually it does contain so make sure you check!!

I then use either a buffing brush or my clean hands to apply this onto my face, this creates a awesome glow and a natural finish. If you feel that this does not provide enough coverage for you, you can then use a concealer to hide those blemishes.

You should then use a highlighter of your choice and one that matches your skin tone, sweep this and highlight the corner of your eyes, under the brows, above the cheekbones and then to the center of your bottom lip. This will give you that amazing glow on top of your skin.

If you feel like adding any color into your skin, you can always add a cream blush or cream bronzer to the apples of your cheeks. I find wearing blush and bronzer with the tinted moisturizer makes your face look amazing and I always receive complements when wearing a glowing natural look.

Not only can you create a perfect glow with products, you can always do this through a healthy balanced diet for a healthy body and skin. A overall health of the body will be reflected on the face as it retains it's natural glow.
