Products I would never purchase again

Here are few beauty products that I have found highly disappointing and would never purchase again. These might work for some people but for me It was a complete waste of money.

Firstly, good old nail polish remover. I bought this when I was away for a week and was in desperate need in taking my chipped nail polish off. As this was the cheapest one I could find where I was, I thought it would just be as good as my 80p one at home. I hate this and so did my nails! Not only did it make them dry, but took at least half of the bottle to remove it.

Now this Instant shine dry conditioner looks like something good, I use this brand for my silver shampoo and realised after I picked this product up that it was a conditioner. This made my hair oily and greasy when I have naturally dry hair. I still have a full bottle of this and would probably never use it again. It did give my hair a boost of shine but not in a good way!

I purchased Clinique Clarifying lotion when I was suffering with a little acne on my chin. I wanted a skin care regime that would reduce the redness and oiliness on my skin. As advertised by the lady on the counter I thought I would give the 3 step plan a go. Since I received a sample as well as this, I used that up first to see whether I liked it. If anything I found this regime to break me out more than I did and again was a complete waste of money. However this does work for my mother so not always a waste.

Having going through a rough time, all I had done was cry. Not looking like I wanted to be makeup free all the time, I was in need of some waterproof mascara and something that wasn't too pricey. I came across this in Asda for around £2 and I think its the worst mascara I have ever used in my life, too make matters worse I picked up the colour brown which also looks silly on me, I can never seem to find a good drugstore waterproof mascara that gives great results. Any recommendations? :)

I wear lipstick everyday, so when I seen this product I could not resist buying. Long lasting wearable lipcote I thought was right up my street. I actually can't stand wearing this product, I have used this 3 times and the times I have used this I have experienced burning lips and then I usually get some sort of pimple, I wish I could love this product but it just aint for me.

Lastly the ever most popular stay matte powder by Rimmel. Anybody else hate this product? I have a very shiny forehead and chin and no matter how many times I have attempted to love this product, It never works. I am not the biggest fan with powder anyway but this made me look like I had a thick layer of makeup on.

Barry M Haul

Hands down, Barry M has to be my favourite and most trusted brand ever. Having used these for years I have built up a little collection thanks to the 3 for 2 offers!
I recently picked up these colours which I thought would be perfect for summer but with this weather being as moody as it is I don't think there actually is a summer!

Blueberry
Considering this was a Gelly nail paint, It had the exact same texture and consistency as all of the other polishes. Without flash the colour looks more of a lilac than blue, I found this to take the longest to dry out the lot but It's worth waiting for pretty summery nails and I can see myself wearing this a lot.

Mint Green
I'm never brave enough to wear super light colours on my nails but this is such a fun bright colour for any occasion. This colour would look great with a tan an some glitter to add that extra touch.

Strawberry
This is probably my least favourite out the bunch, the colour is really pretty but I found it to take hours to dry and even when I thought it was dry it was tacky. The colour is quite subtle and would look beautiful for holidays.

Pink Flamingo
My ultimate favourite colour ever, this has to be my most favourite in my whole nail polish collection. I have purchased this plenty of times over the years and its so lovely for all year round! defiantly worth a purchase

Disappointing Makeup Products #2

Collection 2000 lasting perfection foundation - I first tried this foundation before the concealer became popular and I did actually like the consistency and colour of the foundation but lately I have noticed a change in the formula. This foundation has now become patchy, quite dry & lasts around a hour. This could be lovely on somebody else but I am really disappointed in this product, considering It could have been one of the best ones from the drugstore.

L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique foundation - Having heard good reviews about this foundation, I thought I'd see what the big fuss was about. I honestly hated this foundation, everything about it felt wrong. It made my skin very oily (even though I have dry skin). I constantly looked shiny and my skin itched every time I wore it. It even broke me out in spots and blemishes every time I used it, I was desperate for it to be a good foundation so I tested it a few times just to be sure I wasn't having a bad skin day. Highly Annoyed and feel like it was a complete waste of money.

Revlon nail polish 004 Blue Lagoon - How beautiful is the colour of this nail polish? Just a shame the constancy is horrible. This would have been one of my favourite colours to wear this summer. Everytime I have tried this polish it takes around half hour to dry, chips within a day & looks very messy if you don't apply it carefully  This would be perfect for someone who has time to do their nails rather than for someone who leads a busy life. This is defiantly not a go too polish for me.

Clinique face powder & brush - Looking for a new face powder and being persuaded by makeup artists on the beauty counter, I was excited to try my new powder. When I have used it over my foundation I have never felt like I have been wearing so much makeup in my life. It felt to heavy on my skin and it certainly didn't match my skin tone. I'm still desperate to use this powder as I feel it would be too much of a waste not to use. Has anybody tried this and have any tips? Id love to know.

Maybelline dream glow instant bronzing makeup - I adore my bronzer's & love having the bronzed healthy look to my skin. This caught my eye when I was looking through the fake tan section, having tried this on the back of my hand it looked quite pretty, so I made a little purchase. I don't like the smell of this product nor do I like the colour on my skin tone. I thought this would have been a lovely product for the summer & for holidays but It just didn't work for me.

Under £10 Make Over | Summer Makeup

Miss Sporty So Energetic | natural radiance foundation | £1.50

This foundation is lovely for summer time, priced at £1.50 its a little beauty bargain. I have purchased this a few times, when I don't feel like much coverage I just use this with a buffing brush and it gives your skin a natural glow. It smells lovely and fits perfect in your Make-up bag, I take this everywhere in the summer as it gives me a that extra instant glow.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick | Notting Hill Nude 720 | £1.00

I purchased this lipstick in poundland a few months back and have used it basically every day. Poundland always have some good drugstore lipsticks in and I always find the prettiest shades. If you can't get to your local store then try www.fragrancedirect.co.uk for the latest beauty bargains.

Megaga Blending Brush 38| Ebay £1.88

I came across these brushes on eBay when I was looking for a cheap blending brush. I seen this brush from Hong Kong and they took around 2 weeks to come. I love this brush & will be making more purchases!

MUA Intense Colour | Eyeliner | Snow white | £1.00

MUA is the cheapest brand to buy for drugstore Makeup. I love their white eyeliners  very pigmented and easy to use. One thing I love about MUA, They proved the best sharpeners with their liners, Bonus!

MUA Immaculate Collection | Eyeshadow Palette | £4.00

There was a massive sale on in my local superdrug and plenty of things on offer. MUA had a great offer on and sold these 24 shadow palette for a brilliant £4!! Always check for the latest offers on the MUA website or your local superdrug.

Miss Sporty | Studio Lash Mascara, Incredi Ball | Free | Usual price - £2.99

I got this mascara with my buy two get one free deal at Superdrug. I absolutely love this mascara, if I was to compare the brush I would say its similar to the benefit their real mascara, except this mascara is easy to remove. It is one of the best drugstore products & cheapest out in the market. Defiantly worth a purchase, you wouldn't be disappointed.

All in all this cost under £10! I couldn't be more happier with these bargains.

Have you found any similar or tried these products yourselves? I would love to know :)

Cheap Nivea Goodies

Recently, I purchased some Nivea products, from using their moisturiser before, I am a massive fan and it has become one of my favourite brands to use.

Express Hydration Primer
I have never needed to use a face primer mainly because I don't like putting too much onto my skin everyday and I wasn't going to pay over £6 for something that would sit in my cupboard! Having a nosey round savers I spotted this express hydration primer, the packaging caught my eye and the pink little sticker saying it won awards instantly made me want to buy it! pricing at £3.99 I was happy to try.
First impressions, the quality is lovely, feels so smooth and silky on my skin, the fragrance smells like any Nivea product and it kept my makeup on extra long! Once empty I think this is something I will be purchasing again and has now become a favourite!

Oil Free Moisturising Day Cream
This has been my favourite product to use now for over a year. When I began using this I had terrible oily skin but since using it my skin has gone back to normal! I still love using this as it makes me skin feel lovely and its only £1.99 bargain!

Tinted Moisturiser Day Cream
I was so excited to try this product, a lover of tinted moisturiser I'm always on the look out for a good one to keep in stock. However I was extremely disappointed! The coloring was very patchy and had pink undertones (something that does not look nice on my skin tone . This might have been just my skin type but it could work for you, As a cheap beauty product it is worth giving it a go.

Have you tried many Nivea products? Whats your favourite?

Seven Deadly Sins Tag!

With loads going on in my life recently I haven't had time to pick up my laptop and blog away. Since having a little time to myself I thought I would write up a few posts this week and finally get back into a routine!
soo I thought I would begin with a Seven Deadly Sins tag!

1. Greed: What is your most expensive beauty item?

Has to be my Chanel foundations! I don't usually like splurging out on makeup as I always love to find a cheaper dupe but I couldn't help myself when I heard such good things about them. They have lasted over two years so defiantly worth the money!

2. Wrath: Which beauty item do you have a love/hate relationship with?

For me this has to be blusher! I can't stand how it looks on my skin and I can never get it to sit nicely with my bronzer. No matter how many I have tried, I can't bring myself to love it.

3. Gluttony: What brand makes up the biggest chunk of your makeup collection?

This is a difficult one as I love trying as many different brands as possible but the majority of my collection is by Rimmel, Collection & MAC.

4. Sloth: What product do you neglect to use due to laziness?

Any hair product, I can never be bothered to use anything on my hair except hair oil. I find it such a effort as it takes so long to do.

5. Pride: Which beauty product gives you the most confidence?

For me this would have to be foundation and bronzer, without them I feel chubby and spotty. They make me feel a lot better about myself .

6. Lust: Which item is at the top of your beauty wish list?

This has to be Chanel tan de soleil. As a huge bronzer fan I am dying to try this!!

7. Envy: What makeup product/look looks great on others but not on yourself?

I would have to say a dark smokey eye, With having bigger lips I feel lipstick suits me better than a heavy eye makeup.

I Tag anyone who reads :)

Makeup on a budget!

So again I went into my local Poundworld and picked up some goodies! You will always find some cheap makeup brands such as Rimmel, Sleek, Maybelline and Revlon. Everytime I pass, I have the urge to go have a sneak peak what they have to offer. You can also find cheaper brands sold in savers, body care & other pound shops too.
I picked up a sleek mascara in 'black' I have never seen this mascara in Superdrug before but having tried sleek products before I was excited to see what this mascara had to offer. I love the brush it is easy to use and gives you great length to your lashes, defiantly worth the price.
I then seen two lipsticks, one from Rimmel and the other Sleek. I have picked up a few Rimmel lipsticks from Poundworld before but they haven't been the best of colours. I was also skeptical about buying a nude lipstick as The ones I have bought before were not nice but I really Love the colour and constancy of this. For a £1 you cannot complain! And since wearing it I have had many compliments on my lips!
I did not realise how dark the sleek lipstick was until I opened the packaging but it still a pretty colour and it is super soft on your lips.
Last but not least Is the nail polishes. I always pick as many up as I can when I go but they only really had 2 colours that caught my eye. Firstly the NYC Spring Street, This is the perfect colour for this spring and it is very pigmented, I love it so much and cannot believe the bargain! I purchased another Rimmel nail polish too, this time in a deep blackcurrant  So perfect for when you are in a rush and need a quick manicure as it dries quick and only needs one coat to look good!

Have you purchased anything from a pound or dollar shop? They have some amazing bargains.
